The highly reactive Pozzolana
P100 is super fine fly ash with ivory colored appearance and when touched gives feel of talcum powder or Boric Powder .This fly ash is extracted from a specially designed system which traps super fine particles which in normal process remains untapped.
Salient Features of P100
- 100% passing through 45 micron and 0.25% retained on 25micron.
- Specific surface area up to700 m2/kg.
- Water Reduction 10-12% less as compared with OPC mix in Standard Mortar and 15-20% less in CONCRETE.
- Gives workable mix at water cement ratio as low as 0.22 at comparatively lesser admixture dosage.
- RCPT Value or Coulomb value at par with micro silica mix.
- Higher early strength as compared to Silica fume mix.
- Substantial 24 hours or One day strength.
- High performance concrete can be produced at much lower cost as compared with silica fume mix as price of P100 is less than 1/3rd of silica fume and on the top of it admixture dosage can be reduced by at least 0.2% which is substantial saving in case of PC based admixture.
Comparative Trial Details
Applications of P100
P100 can be effectively used in Various types of concrete including High Performance Concrete . Here are some applications developed by Dirk R&D centre in various types of High grade concrete with some lab Trial results.
- For high grade e.g. M70 grade of concrete replacing micro silica and using admixture at lower dosage. Here is one example of some of one mix for M70 Grade
- For Self Compacted Concrete – P100 is best suitable material for S.C.C especially for Higher grades M60 & onwards. It helps in getting desired flow values at lower admixture dosage, maintains cohesion, avoids bleeding &segregation.
It is observed that with inclusion of P100 we get required flow value and other parameters satisfied at comparatively lower dosage of admixture. - For High early strength requirements.
